Betting Odds
Calculator.
Convert betting odds between Decimal, American, Fractional and Implied Probability formats. Add an optional stake in South African Rand to estimate potential return and profit.
Convert your
odds.
Enter one mainstream odds format and the calculator will display equivalent formats, implied probability and estimated return figures.
Use the odds format displayed by your chosen sportsbook.
Enter odds above to view the equivalent betting formats and an estimated payout.
Calculator results are estimates based on the figures entered. Always confirm final odds, stake, market rules, settlement terms and potential payout directly with the bookmaker before placing a bet.
One number.
Four formats.
Manually converting odds across multiple formats can be tedious. Whether you are using a South African sportsbook, travelling abroad, or comparing sites that display markets differently, this calculator gives you a quick reference for Decimal, American, Fractional and Implied Probability odds.
Enter the stake you want to use in Rand and the odds shown for the relevant selection. The calculator then converts the chosen format into the others and estimates the potential total payout and profit. It is an educational tool: it does not predict results, guarantee value or replace the bookmaker’s final market rules.
Three simple
steps.
Use the calculator to convert the odds you see, compare formats and understand potential returns.
Type the bet amount
The calculator uses South African Rand. Enter an optional stake—for example, 100 to see the estimated return and profit from an R100 wager.
Enter the odds
Select Decimal, American, Fractional or Implied Probability, then enter the exact odds displayed for your selection.
Observe conversions
Select Calculate to see equivalent odds formats, implied probability, estimated total payout and profit.
American: +100 or greater, or -100 or lower. Decimal: greater than 1. Fractional: positive numerator and denominator, written as 2/1. Implied Probability: more than 0% and no more than 100%.
How odds
work.
Different bookmakers and regions may show the same market in different numerical formats.
Decimal Odds
Common across South Africa, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Decimal odds include the original stake in the total return. Odds must be greater than 1.
2.00 × R100 = R200 total payoutAmerican Odds
Usually displayed with a plus or minus sign. Positive odds show profit from an R100 wager; negative odds show the amount required to make R100 profit.
+100 = R100 profit from R100Fractional Odds
Common in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The numerator represents profit and the denominator represents the stake unit. A 1/1 price is commonly called even money.
1/1 = R100 profit from R100Implied Probability
Implied probability translates a price into an estimated chance of the outcome occurring. It is based on the displayed odds and is not a guaranteed outcome.

Examples use an R100 stake and demonstrate how the formats connect mathematically.
Decimal odds: 2.00
At decimal odds of 2.00, an R100 stake has an estimated R100 profit if it wins, returning R200 in total.
Decimal odds: 1.50
At decimal odds of 1.50, an R100 stake has an estimated R50 profit if it wins, returning R150 in total.
Decimal odds: 5.00
At decimal odds of 5.00, an R100 stake has an estimated R400 profit if it wins, returning R500 in total.
Use the tool to
ask better questions.
Odds conversions make it easier to compare how a selection is priced across different formats. They do not tell you whether a bet will win, whether a market is suitable for you, or whether the final payout will be accepted by an operator.
Bookmakers build margin into markets. Comparing prices and implied probabilities can help you understand the price you are being offered, but all betting outcomes remain uncertain.
Save conversion time
Use the calculator instead of manually converting complex decimal, fractional or American prices.
Compare potential returns
Enter different odds and stakes to see how price changes can affect estimated payout and profit.
Follow live price movement
Use the converter to reassess how a changing in-play price translates across familiar odds formats.
Keep risk in perspective
A calculator can explain a number, but it cannot remove risk. Set limits and never bet money you cannot afford to lose.

They do not guarantee.
Betting should be entertainment, not an income source or a way to recover losses.
Keep betting recreational
Set a budget, avoid chasing losses, do not borrow money to gamble and take a break if betting begins to cause stress or financial pressure.
Common
questions.
Quick answers about betting odds conversion and calculator results.
01 What is a betting odds calculator?+
A betting odds calculator converts a price from one odds format into others. It can also estimate implied probability, total payout and profit when you enter a stake.
02 Are implied odds the same as real odds?+
No. Implied probability is a mathematical translation of the displayed odds. It is not a certainty, and it does not account for every factor that could influence the outcome of an event.
03 Which odds format is used in South African sportsbooks?+
Decimal odds are commonly used by South African bookmakers. However, operators and international platforms may also display fractional or American formats, which is why conversions can be useful.
